Mr. Steve Ehrlich joined us as COO on his birthday in February of 2018. Word on the street is it was one of his most memorable gifts to date. He enjoys the occasional NBA conversation, leads our team meetings and is considered the glue of our company. Get to know more about him in the interview below!
What did you do before you came to Bolstra?
I had taken a short sabbatical following the sale of PolicyStat, my former employer of 10 years.
What do you do at Bolstra on a day-to-day? Who do you work with?
A little bit of everything with or for just about everyone in the company. I see my job as leading the company and looking for ways to help make everyone as effective as possible in their roles.
What do you like to do when you aren’t working?
I like periods of solitude to recharge, and I love to spend time with family and friends.
What is the key to happiness?
Doing something that you love and sharing it with others.
What is your must-have piece of technology?
My car – a 2018 Honda Accord Hybrid.
What is one fun fact you would like to share about yourself?
I have five children, and they have seven college degrees among them with one still in her undergrad at Purdue University. I am incredibly proud of my children and the way they are positioned to positively impact the world.
Where do you see yourself in the next 3-5 years?
Leading the team at Bolstra as the company scales to new heights.
What would you be doing if you weren’t working at Bolstra?
Working as a landscaper.
What was the last book you read?
When recently I heard that Philip Roth died I reread the story “Goodbye Columbus.”
What is your favorite movie or music genre?
I am very eclectic in my musical tastes – new, old, rock, folk, jazz, classic r&b, country, classical…
Favorite sports team?
The Indiana Pacers
Cats or dogs?
One granddog – Dexter, a very special Shiba Inu (pictured below).
Where was the last place you traveled to?
Family trip to Italy for my son’s destination wedding in Florence – it was awesome.
What is your greatest love in life?
My wife – I am probably the luckiest person alive. She has supported me through all of the ups and downs of my career working at early-stage companies.
Morning or evening?
I am definitely a morning person (with occasional evening soirees).
What would you do if you won the lottery?
I feel like I already have won the lottery – my life consistently exceeds my expectations. I am incredibly blessed.
What is your greatest wish for the world?
Unconditional love – unconditional acceptance of people as God made them.
